DOOM'S DAY IS HERE!

On September 22nd, 1999, MF DOOM released one of the greatest & most notable underground hip-hop records of all time, Operation: Doomsday.

In celebration of this release and in light of the current pandemic that almost feels like a doomsday of its own, Technique Records has decided to produce an MF DOOM tribute stream that showcases Miami underground beatmakers, DJs, a fan-made documentary, and visual art.

The goal of this production is to bring the essence of underground hip-hop to life onto a live stream platform, the essence of community, creativity, and freedom of expression. We want to pay tribute to a great producer and emcee while showcasing the talents of underground Miami DJs and beatmakers that look up to him.

Fans can expect a beat showcase filled with MF DOOM edits, sample hip-hop beats that borrow techniques from DOOM himself, green screen DJ sets by GOT NOW & Riki Steez that will honor MF DOOM’s best productions, and a fan made documentary by Jackson Burns titled, “VILLAINY - The MF DOOM Story”.

Some of the Miami beatmakers that will be presenting beats with visual art are CHOP!, Chan, and even Rap79, founder of fellow Miami record store, Found Sound Records.

For the event, Technique Records will have various MF DOOM records for sale along with a special MF DOOM themed sticker pack for fans to show support.

With that said, we leave you with the number one rule for every MF DOOM fan in the words of the great emcee himself,

“Just remember ALL CAPS when you spell the man name.”
